Entoria: The Last Song is a soulslike featuring exquisite visuals, music, and challenging combat. If you’ve just started out in the game, there are plenty of enemies you’ll come across, and while most of them are fairly easy to deal with, some can be quite challenging.
Lumberjack is an enemy type that you will encounter early in the game. These enemies are far more challenging than other regular mobs, although you can run past them if they prove to be too much of a hassle to deal with. But, if you learn how to defeat them, it will prove extremely beneficial when facing far stronger enemies in the future.
How To Find Lumberjack Enemies
You can come across Lumberjacks fairly early in the game all over the Quinta region. These enemies are usually paired with other mobs, such as the farmers. However, the regular Lumberjacks aren’t that much of a problem.
In the Quinta region, you can sometimes encounter a far stronger version of Lumberjacks with a red health bar. You will also spot the cocktail glass icon under their health bar, indicating that these enemies inflict Vis damage.
You can encounter two of these enhanced Lumberjacks in Quinta. The first one is in The Field of Beginnings and you can find it right after dealing with the first two farmers, and then heading up on the cliff on the right.
The second enhanced Lumberjack can be found near the Lesser Commons Knot, on your way to the first boss of the game. However, to fight this enemy, you will have to circle around the area, and you will find him right behind the door next to the Knot, which states that it can’t be opened from this side.
How To Defeat Lumberjack Enemies
The regular version of the enemies is fairly easy to beat, even if they have slightly more health than Farmer enemies. All you have to do is keep your distance during their attack combos. After they’re done, head in to deliver a few attacks and then rinse and repeat.
The Lumberjack enemies often use a three-hit attack combo, swinging the axe in rapid succession. While the attack deals a fair amount of damage, you can easily avoid it by running away or by simply parrying each hit.
If you try to retreat, the Lumberjacks will run towards you, smashing their axe on the ground. Be sure to dodge right after healing to avoid the attack. These enemies also do a two-handed attack, which has a fairly short range and can be easily avoided by dodging to the back.
To deal with the enhanced Lumberjacks with red health bars, you will have to put in extra effort and stay in their face. You will have to consistently parry most of their attacks, and if you fail, you will likely die in two swings from this enemy.
Fortunately, the attack combos of these enemies are fairly telegraphed and easy to parry. Once you’ve got the timing down, you’ll be able to consistently parry their entire moveset, filling their unravel bar and making them vulnerable to a finishing attack.
You will have to unravel and execute the finishing move about three to four times to kill the enhanced Lumberjack enemies due to their massive health bars. You can also try infusing your weapon with Fatuo or use Fatuo Mask Lines to deal increased damage to the enhanced Lumberjacks due to their affinity with the Vis element.
Rewards For Defeating Lumberjack Enemies
Defeating Lumberjack enemies rewards the player with Lumberjack Mask Shards and Lumberjack’s Axe, which is a Greatsword category weapon.
The enhanced version of the Lumberjack enemies has better drops, compared to the regular Lumberjacks that you encounter all over Quinta.
