From how to traverse the world quicker to how to fight for effectively this Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes guide has you covered.

You’ll be joined by five other members on this expedition, and the game gives you various necessary supplies through the chests scattered in the area. However, you’ll have to take a specific path if you want to get past the fog and reach the Runebarrows.

How To Remove The Fog

As you enter the Northern Forest, you’ll have quite an easy time at the start since the path is quite straightforward. For this particular dungeon, you can also see the side paths being a little darker than the main path, making it easier for you to know which one you’re supposed to take. This mainly happens because all the side paths are leading downwards while the main one leads upward.

However, once you get past the second side path on the top left side and start climbing through the tree branch, you’ll realize that the mini-map isn’t there anymore. The fog in the area hides the minimap and you have to find your own way forward. Simply keep going to the right and you’ll find a small entrance to another tree branch there.

If you try to keep going to the top left part here, the fog will b
lock your path and teleport you back
to where the map stops working.

You can see the path on the right just underneath the save point here. As you go past it and reach the bottom, move downward to trigger a cutscene and enter the Forest Eater boss fight.

How To Defeat The Forest Eater

Forest Eater will be your first boss fight in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, and while it isn’t particularly a difficult one, it’s still important to keep a few mechanics in mind to have an easier time here. If you’ve been opening chests on your way to this fight, you likely already have some healing and revival items.

If one of your characters gets on low HP, don’t be afraid to use these items or the rune-lens abilities from Hildi to heal them back up. It’s important to keep the characters alive, and you can easily get these items back through the chests in the next area or by buying them from the Potion Shop merchants.

It’s recommended to use Hildi’s water abilities
while you have the mana for it
if you’re planning to heal your allies.

It’s also important to use your SP abilities for other characters whenever possible. Characters gain one SP every time they don’t use an SP ability, and most characters in this battle have an ability that can be triggered once they have two of them. These abilities deal much higher damage to the boss, allowing you to defeat it easily.

Moreover, if some of your characters are eliminated in battle, they automatically revive with one HP as soon as it ends. However, if the battle ends with the character(s) knocked out, they won’t get any experience from it.
